2025 SDSU DESIGN SHOW
EXHIBITION DESIGN, BRAND IDENTITY, ART DIRECTION
OVERVIEW
Of more than 150 graduating design students, I was honored to be selected amongst a team of two designers to take lead and create the identity for our senior portfolio exhibition. This show is the culminating showcase of our collective work and individual design journeys. This role entrusted me with shaping the visual voice of our graduating class, distilling the energy, diversity, and ambition of our cohort into a single, unified identity.
From concept to execution, I took lead in the development of the show’s name, theme, and complete visual system — setting the tone across all touchpoints including print collateral, digital media, environmental graphics, and social campaigns.

THE CONCEPT
INTO THE UNKNOWN
The future is unwritten — let’s design it.

“Into the Unknown” became the conceptual backbone of the show — a theme that speaks directly to the moment we’re living in. It reflects the uncertainty that graduating designers face as we step out into a world in flux — one shaped by AI, automation, and rapid industry change.

SOLUTION
The visual identity was built to reflect the reality of graduating into a rapidly shifting design landscape — one shaped by uncertainty, ambition, and the pressure to adapt. The system is clean but tense: a fragmented grid holding together type and intrusive chrome forms that break through the layout.
The chrome elements present distortion and reflectivity that echo the unpredictability of the world we’re entering. Set against a sharp typographic structure, they create friction — order colliding with instability.
